An article on WatSan (Water and Sanitation) program, an initiative of Navya Disha was featured in the Kannada newspaper, Vijaya Karnataka, on Wednesday, September 21, 2011. Navya Disha is a sister concern of Grameen Financial Services Pvt. Ltd (GFSPL). GFSPL supports this program with special Water and Sanitation loans to members who are interested to get water connections or get toilets built in their houses. The article showed that in Tumkur and neighbouring districts, GFSPL has helped people to construct around 5000+ toilets and 4000+ water connections. The Navya Disha programs to create awareness among the villagers and GFSPL's financial help through loans have been commended upon by the report.
